Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. In the following season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had signed by Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. Then, on the 9th of November 2018, she released another two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. In February of 2019 her music video to the song was released. The song has received more than three million YouTube views in just a single week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
